Zaķusala is one of several islands in the Daugava River in the central part of Riga, the capital of Latvia. A part of the city's Salas neighbourhood, Zaķusala is home to the Riga Radio and TV Tower, which was completed in 1986 and the Latvian Television building, also completed the same year.

The Island Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Daugava river in Riga, the capital of Latvia. The bridge was built in the period from 1975 to 1977. It was called the Moscow Bridge until 1991. Island Bridge is situated 350 metres northeast of Acis.

Until 2024, the neighbourhood was named Maskavas forštate, and was also known as Maskavas priekšpilsēta and colloquially as Maskačka—a name derived from the road historically connecting Riga to Moscow.

Torņakalns is a neighbourhood of Riga, Latvia located on the western bank of the Daugava River. The name Torņakalns derives from a fortified tower built in the Middle Ages close to the Daugava River to alert the city of Riga in case of emergency and intruders about to cross the river.
