The Russian Institute of Theatre Arts is the largest and oldest independent theatrical arts school in Russia. Located in Moscow, the school was founded on 22 September 1878 as the Shostakovsky Music School. Russian Institute of Theatre Arts – GITIS is situated 290 metres southeast of Museum of Oriental Arts.

Mayakovsky Theater is a theater in Moscow, Russia, founded in 1920, first as Terevsat, then Revolution Theater and Drama Theater. In 1954 it was renamed after Vladimir Mayakovsky. Mayakovsky Theater is situated 130 metres east of Museum of Oriental Arts.

The Bolshoi Theatre is a historic opera house in Moscow, Russia, originally designed by architect Joseph Bové. Before the October Revolution it was a part of the Imperial Theatres of the Russian Empire along with Maly Theatre in Moscow and a few theatres in Saint Petersburg. Bolshoi Theatre is situated 1¼ km east of Museum of Oriental Arts.
