The is a historic opera house in , , originally designed by architect Joseph Bové. Before the October Revolution it was a part of the Imperial Theatres of the Russian Empire along with Maly Theatre in Moscow and a few theatres in Saint Petersburg. is situated 580 metres west of Lubyanka.

Lubyanskaya Square, or simply Lubyanka in lies about 900 metres north-east of . History first records its name in 1480, when Grand Prince Ivan III of Moscow, who had conquered Novgorod in 1471, settled many Novgorodians in the area.
