Mount Abantos is a mountain in the Sierra de Guadarrama range in the Sistema Central of Spain, a chain that runs from east to west. For the most part, the mountain is located in the municipality of San Lorenzo de El Escorial in the Community of Madrid, with part of its west side in the province of Ávila.

An ice house or icehouse is a building used to store ice throughout the year, commonly used prior to the invention of the refrigerator. Some were underground chambers, usually man-made, located near natural sources of winter ice, such as freshwater lakes, but many were buildings with various types of insulation. Ice house is situated 1½ km northwest of La Penosilla.

Zarzalejo

Zarzalejo is a village in the Community of Madrid in Sierra Oeste, near El Escorial. It had 1,773 inhabitants in 2022. An ancient farmstead dating from Roman times was found here. It was occupied in the second and third centuries AD. Zarzalejo is situated 8 km southwest of La Penosilla.
