The station is part of the Northern Railway zone's Lucknow NR Division and the Varanasi–Lucknow line. Lucknow Charbagh is situated 1½ km east of Alambagh Police Station.

Lucknow Junction railway station is situated 1½ km northeast of Alambagh Police Station.

On 15 May 2016 the gauge conversion process started in which the Aishbagh - Sitapur-Lakhimpur - Mailani - Pilibhit section has been completely upgraded to broad gauge as of March 2024 along with Track Electrification. Aishbagh railway station is situated 1¼ km north of Alambagh Police Station.
