The Citadel of Cairo or Citadel of Saladin is a medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt. Its construction was begun by Salah ad-Din in 1176 and continued by subsequent Egyptian rulers.

Al-Azhar Mosque, known in Egypt simply as al-Azhar, is a mosque in the historic Islamic core of the city of Cairo, Egypt. Commissioned as the new capital of the Fatimid Caliphate in 970 CE, it was the first mosque established in a city that eventually earned the nickname "the City of a Thousand Minarets".

Al-Azhar Park is a public park in Cairo, Egypt. It is located in qism al-Darb al-Ahmar, in Historic Cairo. Among several honors, this park is listed as one of the world's sixty great public spaces by the Project for Public Spaces.

Al-Daher is a district in the Western Area of Cairo, Egypt. According to the district map, and the census, it is subdivided into the qisms of al-Wayli and el-Daher, or al-Zahir. Some of their better known quarters are Sakakini and Abbassia. Al Daher is situated 3½ km northwest of Manshiet Naser.
