Central Zoo

The Central Zoo is a 6-hectare zoo in Jawalakhel, Nepal. It is home to some 969 animals in 109 species, and is operated by the National Trust for Nature Conservation. Central Zoo is situated 3½ km east of I-ta-chhen.

Jal Binayak Temple

Jal Binayak is a Hindu Temple of Lord Ganesh located in the Chobhar, central part of Kathmandu District, Nepal. The Jal Binayak temple is the most important Ganesh shrine of the central region Kathmandu. It is one of the four Binayak of Kathmandu Valley. Jal Binayak Temple is situated 3 km southeast of I-ta-chhen.

Kasthamandap

Kasthamandap is a reconstructed temple and public shelter in Nepal, in Kathmandu Durbar Square. The original three-story wooden structure, with sections dated to the 7th century CE, was destroyed in the April 2015 Nepal earthquake along with many other culturally significant structures in the historic square. Kasthamandap is situated 4 km northeast of I-ta-chhen.

Kirtipur

Kirtipur is a town in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal, 5 km southwest of Kathmandu on a rocky hill between 1,300-1,500 m in elevation. It is one of the oldest settlements in the valley, and was an ancient capital of Nepal.

Chobhar

Chobhar is an ancient hill village in Kathmandu Valley a few kilometres southwest of Kathmandu. It has its origins in the 12th century. It is noted for an extensive series of caves and a gorge on the Bagmati River found nearby.
