Mweelrea is a mountain on the Atlantic coast of County Mayo, Ireland. Rising to 814 metres, it is the highest mountain in the western province of Connacht, and is noted for its southeastern cliff-lined corries, and its views. Mweelrea is situated 3 km northwest of Creggaunranny.

Ben Lugmore at 803 metres is the 29th-highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin scale, and the 37th-highest peak on the Vandeleur-Lynam scale. It is in a horseshoe-shaped massif that includes the slightly higher peak of Mweelrea at 814 metres, the highest mountain in the Irish province of Connacht. Ben Lugmore is situated 3½ km north of Creggaunranny.

Delphi is a locality in County Mayo, Ireland. Its English name was coined by the Marquis of Sligo, who built a hunting lodge there It is located on the Owengar River that connects Fin Lough to Doo Lough, between the fjord of Killary Harbour to the south and the Sheeffry Hills to the north, in a valley surrounded by the Mweelrea Mountains and the neighbouring peaks of Ben Creggan and Ben Gorm. Delphi is situated 4½ km northeast of Creggaunranny.

Leenane or Leenaun is a village on the south shore of Killary fjord in County Galway, with a population of about 200. That fjord is the county boundary: the north shore and the little settlements of Aaleagh and Clog lie in County Mayo, but it's convenient to describe them here.
