Vindolanda

Vindolanda was a Roman auxiliary fort just south of Hadrian's Wall in northern England, which it pre-dated. Archaeological excavations of the site show it was under Roman occupation from roughly 85 AD to 370 AD.

Housesteads Roman Fort

Housesteads Roman Fort was an auxiliary fort on Hadrian's Wall, at Housesteads, Northumberland, England. It is dramatically positioned on the end of the 1-mile -long crag of the Whin Sill over which the Wall runs, overlooking sparsely populated hills.

Milecastle 38

Milecastle 38 was a milecastle on Hadrian's Wall in the vicinity of Hotbank Farm. It is notable for the joint inscription bearing the names of the emperor Hadrian and Aulus Platorius Nepos, the governor of Britannia at the time the Wall was built.

Haydon Bridge is a village in Northumberland, England, which had a population of 2,184 in the 2011 census. Its most distinctive features are the two bridges crossing the River South Tyne: the picturesque original bridge after which the village was named and a modern bridge which used to carry the A69 road. Haydon Bridge is situated 4 miles southeast of Crindledikes.
