The second USS Gallup, a Tacoma-class frigate in commission from 1944 to 1945 and from 1950 to 1951, was the first ship of the United States Navy to be named for Gallup, New Mexico. HTMS Prasae is situated 1½ km southwest of Thung Prong Thong.
