Eriksstadir

Eiríksstaðir is the former homestead of Eiríkr Þorvaldsson, known as Erik the Red, at Haukadalur Valley in the region of . It was likely the birthplace of his son Leif Eiríksson, the first known European discoverer of the Americas.
