Sioni Cathedral of the Dormition

The Sioni Cathedral of the Dormition is a Georgian Orthodox cathedral located in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Following a medieval Georgian tradition of naming churches after specific places in the Holy Land, the Sioni Cathedral bears the name of Mount Zion at Jerusalem. Sioni Cathedral of the Dormition is situated 200 metres southeast of ფირუზი.

Freedom Square or Liberty Square is located in the center of Tbilisi, Georgia, at the eastern end of Rustaveli Avenue. Under Imperial Russia it was known as Erivansky or Paskevich-Erivansky Square While part of the Soviet Union, it was Beria Square and Lenin Square. Freedom Square is situated 380 metres west of ფირუზი.
