The station opened for commercial service on March 2, 2017, with the commencement of operations of the Taoyuan Airport MRT and is served by both Commuter and Express trains on that line.

The HongWell i-Tower, or HonHui i-Tower, is a 180.6 m, 39-storey skyscraper office building located in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan. The building was completed in the first quarter of 2021 and became the sixth tallest building in New Taipei. HongWell i-Tower is situated 360 metres south of New Taipei Industrial Park.
