Progreso is a city in the state of Yucatán, Mexico, on the Gulf of Mexico on the northwest coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. The city was founded in 1811 as a port for exporting sisal fiber from the Yucatán haciendas.

Chicxulub Puerto is a small coastal town in Progreso Municipality in the Mexican state of Yucatán. It is located on the Gulf of Mexico, in the northwestern region of the state about 8 km east of the city port of Progreso, the municipality seat, and 42 km north of the city of Mérida, the state capital. Chicxulub Puerto is situated 6 km east of Estafeta y Fedex.
