Hudong–Zhonghua Shipbuilding is a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation. It produces civilian and military ships. Hudong–Zhonghua claims to be the "Cradle of Chinese Frigates and Landing Ships" for its work for the People's Liberation Army Navy. Hudong–Zhonghua Shipbuilding is situated 1¼ km east of Fuxing Island.

Located at the intersection of Changyang Road and Longchang Road, the station opened on 29 December 2013, as part of an initial fifteen station-long segment of Line 12 between Tiantong Road and Jinhai Road stations. Longchang Road is situated 1½ km west of Fuxing Island.
