It is an annex chapel in the Giske parish which is part of the Nordre Sunnmøre prosti in the Diocese of Møre. Godøy Chapel is situated 2½ km southeast of Alnes, Godøya.

Giske Wildlife Sanctuary is situated 3 km northeast of Alnes, Godøya.
