Victoria Memorial

The Victoria Memorial is a large marble monument in the Maidan in Central Kolkata, having its entrance on the Queen's Way. It was built between 1906 and 1921 by the British Raj. Victoria Memorial is situated 1¼ km southwest of Park Street metro station.

Although primarily "New Market" referred to the original enclosed market, but in local parlance, the entire shopping area along with the market complex is known as "New Market". Kolkata New market is situated 640 metres northeast of Park Street metro station.
