The Southern Common Market is a South American trade bloc established by the Treaty of Asunción in 1991 and Protocol of Ouro Preto in 1994. Its full members are Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Venezuela is a full member but has been suspended since 1 December 2016. Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama, Peru, and Suriname are associate countries. Mercosur is situated 1½ km south of Asociación Española.

Obelisk of Montevideo

The Obelisk of Montevideo, officially Obelisk to the Constituents of 1830 is a monument created by sculptor José Luis Zorrilla de San Martín. It is a three-sided obelisk made of granite, 40 metres tall with three bronze statues on its sides, representing "Law", "Liberty" and "Force". Obelisk of Montevideo is situated 390 metres north of Asociación Española.

Estadio Pocitos

Estadio Pocitos was a multi-use stadium located in the Pocitos district of Montevideo, Uruguay. The stadium, owned by C.A. Peñarol, was mainly used for football matches from 1921 to 1933. Estadio Pocitos is situated 1 km southeast of Asociación Española.

Barrio Jardín is a small neighbourhood of Montevideo, Uruguay, which is part of Barrio Parque Rodó. It was formerly known as "Parque del Pueblo". It is delimited by España Boulevard to its north, 21 de Setiembre Avenue to its south and west, and Artigas Boulevard to its east.
