Llyn Celyn is a reservoir constructed between 1960 and 1965 including the highly controversial Tryweryn flooding in the valley of the River Tryweryn in Gwynedd, Wales.

Carnedd y Filiast is a mountain near Cerrigydrudion on the border of the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales and is 669 metres high. Carnedd y Filiast is situated 1½ miles north of Ffridd Cwmhesgyn.

Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfn

Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfn is a subsidiary summit of Carnedd y Filiast on the border of Snowdonia National Park in Llandderfel, in Gwynedd. The northern slopes of the peak lie in Ysbyty Ifan, in Conwy. Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfn is situated 2 miles northwest of Ffridd Cwmhesgyn.

Capel Celyn

Capel Celyn was a rural community to the northwest of Bala in Merionethshire, Wales, in the Tryweryn valley. The village and other parts of the valley were flooded in the Tryweryn flooding of 1965 to create a reservoir, Llyn Celyn, in order to supply Liverpool and Wirral with water for industry. Capel Celyn is situated 2 miles southwest of Ffridd Cwmhesgyn.

Llidiardau

Llidiardau is a small hamlet in Gwynedd, North Wales, approximately 4 miles northwest of Bala, on an unnamed road, 2.3 miles from Arenig Fawr and in the shadow of Mynydd Nodol. The community population taken at the 2011 census was 20. Llidiardau is situated 2½ miles south of Ffridd Cwmhesgyn.

Frongoch

Frongoch is a village located in Gwynedd, Wales. It lies close to the market town of Bala, on the A4212 road. It was the home of the Frongoch internment camp, used to hold German prisoners-of-war during First World War, and then Irish Republican prisoners from the 1916 Rising. Frongoch is situated 2½ miles southeast of Ffridd Cwmhesgyn.
