This is the oldest of the two railway stations in the city of Ahvaz, with the other one being Karun railway station. The city is the merger of the village of Kut-e Abdollah with nine other villages in 2013. Kut-e Abdollah is situated 8 km south of Khuzestan Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center.
