The Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, or known locally as The Zoo, is Vietnam's largest zoo and botanical garden. The Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens was commissioned by Admiral Pierre-Paul de La Grandière in 1864, and was opened to the public in 1869, making it one of the world's oldest continuously operating zoos. Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens is situated 120 metres southwest of Elephants.

The Hùng King Temple is a temple dedicated to the Hùng kings, the Vietnamese rulers of the Hồng Bàng dynasty. The temple is located in the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, next to the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History. Hùng Kings Temple is situated 220 metres southwest of Elephants.
