Erebuni Fortress

Erebuni Fortress is an Urartian fortified city, located in Yerevan, Armenia. It is 1,017 metres above sea level. It was one of several fortresses built along the northern Urartian border and was one of the most important political, economic and cultural centers of the vast kingdom. Erebuni Fortress is situated 3½ km northeast of Mekhtrans.

Yerevan CCPP-1

Power station

Yerevan Thermal Power Plant, is a thermal power plant located about 10 kilometres from Yerevan, Armenia. An older, obsolete plant was fueled by natural gas and fuel oil, while the new combined-cycle plant is powered by natural gas and has a capacity of 242 megawatts. Yerevan CCPP-1 is situated 1½ km west of Mekhtrans.

Erebuni Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve

Erebuni Historical-Archaeological Reserve-Museum, was established on October 19, 1968. The opening of the museum was timed to coincide with the 2750th anniversary of Yerevan. Erebuni Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve is situated 3½ km northeast of Mekhtrans.

Erebuni is one of the 12 districts of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. It is situated southeast of the city centre where Erebuni Fortress is located. The name of Yerevan itself is derived from ancient Erebuni. Erebuni is situated 3½ km northeast of Mekhtrans.
