The Gare du Nord, officially Paris-Nord, is one of the seven large mainline railway station termini in Paris, France, and Europe's busiest railway station. Paris Nord is situated 260 metres southeast of Gare du Nord - Hôpital Lariboisière.

Lariboisière Hospital is a hospital in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, France. The hospital was one of several built following the second cholera pandemic, which had reached Paris in 1832, and which led to a new emphasis on hygienic practices in hospitals. Lariboisière Hospital is situated 130 metres northeast of Gare du Nord - Hôpital Lariboisière.

The Gare de l'Est, officially Paris-Est, is one of the seven large mainline railway station termini in Paris, France. It is located in the 10th arrondissement, approximately 270 meters southeast from the Gare du Nord, facing the Boulevard de Strasbourg, part of the north–south axis of Paris created by Georges-Eugène Haussmann. Gare de Paris-Est is situated 750 metres southeast of Gare du Nord - Hôpital Lariboisière.

The 10th arrondissement of Paris centres on the Canal Saint Martin and the restaurants and cafés which line its banks. Montmartre is a large hill in Paris' northern 18th arrondissement. It is 130 m high and gives its name to the surrounding district, part of the Right Bank.
