The remains of the site include the low remnants of buildings and enclosure walls and a cross-slab standing stone which sits in the middle of the compound. It is in the west of the Corca Dhuibhne peninsula and according to the 2002 census, about 75% of the town's population speak the Irish language on a daily basis.
