Nakhatrana got its name from a very famous tale when Paliwal Bramhins from Pali migrated to Kutch, the then ruler gifted greenest part of Kutch without any document, 'khat' in Gujarati. Nakhatrana is situated 10 km southwest of Aral Nani.
