Highwic is a 19th-century house in Auckland, New Zealand, which is listed by Heritage New Zealand as a Category I structure. The house was built in 1862 for Alfred Buckland, a wealthy colonial settler and landowner.

Newmarket is a central Auckland suburb. Newmarket was originally an independent borough from 1885 to 1989, when it was abolished. Newmarket was established as a livestock market since the 1850s and grew to become a retail and commercial centre for Auckland, with the main road Broadway being the focal point of this activity.
