It is one of the two churches for the Os parish which is part of the Fana prosti in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. Os is situated 3½ km east of Nore Neset.

The village lies on the southwestern part of the Bergen Peninsula, along the western shore of the Fusafjorden, about 25 kilometres south of the city centre of Bergen.
