Ponale Roadblock
The Ponale Roadblock, not to be confused with Fort Ampola, is an Austro-Hungarian fortification built near Lake Garda in Northern Italy. Ponale also has the name of Fort Teodosio because of the Roman coins found nearby dating to the reign of Emperor Theodosius.Photo: Robertk9410, CC BY-SA 4.0.

The Ponale road, Ponale highway or lately Alpine trail D 01 is a former highway that was the first road connection between the Garda Lake area and the Ledro valley. Ponale road is situated 180 metres north of Ponale Roadblock.
