The Moritzburg is a fortified castle in Halle, Germany. The cornerstone of what would later become the residence of the Archbishops of Magdeburg was laid in 1484; the castle was built in the style of the Early Renaissance. Moritzburg is situated 420 metres south of Dörte Dorant.

Roter Ochse

Roter Ochse is a prison in Halle. The name can be traced to the end of the nineteenth century, but its origin is unclear. It is said to be related to the colour of the masonry. Since 1996 the building has also been used as a memorial. Roter Ochse is situated 250 metres northwest of Dörte Dorant.

The German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, in short Leopoldina, is the national academy of Germany, and is located in Halle. Founded on 1 January 1652, based on academic models in Italy, it was originally named the Academia Naturae Curiosorum until 1687 when Emperor Leopold I raised it to an academy and named it after himself.
