Haiphong or Hai Phong is the smallest municipality of Vietnam by area and is the principal port city of the Red River Delta, with an area of 3,194.72 km2.

Lao Cai is a town in northern Vietnam. It is on the border with China, separated from the Chinese town of Hekou by the Nanxi and Red Rivers.

Dien Bien Phu is a town of 80,000 people in northwestern Vietnam. The city is best known for the events which occurred there during the First Indochina War, the Battle of Điện Biên Phủ. Later in the war the region was a breadbasket for the Việt Minh.
Cao Bang

Cao Bằng is the capital of Cao Bằng province in northern Vietnam. While unremarkable in and of itself, Cao Bằng is an easy-going gateway to the surrounding lakes, minority villages, karst peaks, caves, and the Ban Gioc Waterfall on the Chinese border.

Thái Nguyên is a city in Vietnam. It is the capital and largest city of Thái Nguyên Province. The city is listed as a first class city and is the ninth largest city in Vietnam.Ha Giang

Hà Giang is a city in the northeast region of Vietnam, on the banks of the Lô River. The surrounding Hà Giang Province impresses visitors with its high karst plateau, steep hills, winding roads, and ethnic diversity.
Ban Gioc Waterfall

Ban Gioc Waterfall is the largest natural waterfall in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. It is located in Đàm Thủy Commune, Trùng Khánh District, Cao Bằng Province, about 335 km from Hanoi.
Mong Cai

Mong Cai is a coastal town on the Chinese border in Vietnam. Its Chinese neighbor is Dongxing. You would probably consider Mong Cai only at most as a stopping point during your journey from China to Ha Long Bay or from Vietnam to China.

Ba Be National Park

Ba Be National Park is in Thái Nguyên Province, Northern Vietnam. Spring and winter are the best times to visit Ba Be Lake. The weather is pleasant come August and September but it's by far the most crowded season for the park.

Cô Tô is a small Special administrative zone of Quảng Ninh province in the northeastern region of Vietnam. As of 2019, the district had a population of 6,285, which is the lowest-population subdivision in Quảng Ninh.
