Songkhla is the provincial capital of Songkhla Province. The city itself is surrounded by beaches such as Samila & Son Awn. With the beaches, some historical centres and nice green parks, this place is definitely a good place to recharge before heading to more lively Hat Yai.
Pattani

Pattani, also spelled Patani in Malay, is the capital of a province of the same name on the Southern Gulf Coast. The population of the city is a little over 40,000 and is a mix of Malay, Thai and Chinese ethnic groups and Muslim and Buddhist religions.

Yala is a city and seat of Mueang Yala District and Yala Province of far southern Thailand. The provincial and district capital, it is 137 kilometres by road southeast of Hat Yai.

Narathiwat is a town in southern Thailand and capital of Narathiwat Province. The town is in the Mueang Narathiwat District and was established in 1936. As of 2008, the population was 40,521. It lies 1,141 km south of Bangkok.

Phatthalung

Phatthalung is a town in southern Thailand, capital of Phatthalung Province. The town covers tambon Khuhu Sawan, and small parts of tambon Khao Chiak, Tha Mi Ram, Prang Mu, Lampam, Tamnan, and Khuan Maphrao, all in Mueang Phatthalung District.

Betong is a city in deep southern Thailand, quite close to Yala. The Betong city centre is surrounded by mountains, resulting in a cool climate and high rainfall with frequent fog in the morning.
Sungai Kolok

Sungai Kolok is a border town in Narathiwat, Thailand, just north of the Malaysian border. The town on the Malaysian side of the border is Rantau Panjang which is in the state of Kelantan.
Tak Bai
Tak Bai is a small town on the Southern Gulf Coast, 3 km north of the border with Malaysia. The local border crossing is at the village of Ban Taba, and the nearest major town on the Malaysian side of the border is Kota Bharu, Kelantan's state capital.Padang Besar
