Bursa is a large city in the Southern Marmara region of Turkey, 20 km inland from the Marmara coast. It's the country's fourth-largest city, with a population of 2,161,990 in 2021, and with another million living in the wider metro area.

Troy is the site of an ancient city 30 km southwest of Çanakkale in the Southern Marmara Region of Turkey. In Greek it was called Ilion, hence the name of Homer’s epic poem Iliad, which describes the climax of the legendary ten-year Trojan War.

Çanakkale is a city in the Southern Marmara region of Turkey. It stands at the outlet of the Dardanelles, the straits between European and Asian Turkey, and has been a travel hub in peace and war since antiquity.

Bandırma is a city in Southern Marmara Region of Turkey. It's a large freight and ferry port, with a population of 149,469 in 2016, and most visitors are just passing through. The main attraction is the bird life on the lake to the south.
Bozcaada

Bozcaada is an island in the Aegean Sea, near the western exit of the Dardanelles, in the Southern Marmara Region of Turkey. In 2018 it had a population of 3023, concentrated around its port and sole town, which is likewise called Bozcaada.
Uludağ

Uludağ is a mountain of 2543 m elevation which gives its name to a national park and ski resort. It rises just south of Bursa in the Southern Marmara Region of Turkey.
Mudanya

Mudanya is a port in the Southern Marmara Region of Turkey. It's on the Marmara coast 12 km north of Bursa, with ferries from Istanbul, and most visitors are just passing through.
Gemlik

Gemlik is a city in the Southern Marmara Region of Turkey, with a population of 91,070 in 2018. "Gemlik" means shipyard and it's a commercial port and centre of industry.
Gönen

Gönen is a city in Southern Marmara in Turkey, 45 km inland from the port of Bandırma. It has a population of 45,282 as of 2012, with another 20,000 in its surrounding villages, and is best known for its geothermal springs.

Geyikli

Geyikli is a village on the Troad Peninsula of Southern Marmara, 50 km south of the regional hub of Çanakkale. With a population of 3284 in 2013, it's the largest of a string of little places on or near the coast.
