Black Fortress

Sev Berd or Black Fortress is an abandoned Russian imperial fortress in Gyumri, Shirak Province, Armenia. The fortress, which lies 8 kilometres from the Turkish border, was built in response to the Russo-Turkish War of 1828–1829. Black Fortress is situated 2½ km south of Aragats district.

Vardanants Square

Vartanants Square or Vardanants Square, is the large central town square in Gyumri, Armenia. It is bordered by Abovyan street from the west, Gai street from the north, Shahumyan street from the east and Vahan Cheraz street from the south. Vardanants Square is situated 2½ km southeast of Aragats district.

Gyumri railway station, is the oldest railway station in Armenia and the main station of the city of Gyumri. Gyumri is situated 3½ km southeast of Aragats district.

Gyumri is the second largest city in Armenia and the capital of Shirak Province in Northern Armenia. The city was hit hard by the 1988 Spitak earthquake, the consequences of which are still visible throughout the city in the 2020’s.

Arapi is a village in the Akhuryan Municipality of the Shirak Province of Armenia. Statistical Committee of Armenia reported its population was 2,053 in 2010, up from 1,980 at the 2001 census. Arapi is situated 3 km southwest of Aragats district.
