Kelso is a city in the southwestern part of the State of Washington and the county seat of Cowlitz County. At the 2020 census, the population was 12,720.

Longview, the City of Trees, is a city in Southwest Washington State along the Columbia River, and across the Cowlitz River from Kelso. It was established in 1923 by R. A. Long, who intended it to become the "Chicago of the West".
