New Marske is a village in North Yorkshire, England, a mile south-west of Marske-by-the-Sea on a hillside. It was originally a group of miners' terraced houses. Longbeck railway station links it to Saltburn, Middlesbrough and Darlington. New Marske is situated 1½ miles southwest of Cliff House.

Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a seaside town in North Yorkshire, 12 miles east of Middlesbrough. It was a tiny fishing village until the 1860s when ironstone mining got started, and it was laid out as a resort and mineworkers' village on a grid pattern.
