It was owned by the former ruling family of Waldeck and Pyrmont, and it served as the retirement residence of SS General Josias, Hereditary Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont. Schaumburg Castle is situated 150 metres west of Mutter Meeras Darshan (Stiftung).
