The site is dedicated to 455 individuals who were executed by the authorities of the Independent State of Croatia during the World War II in Yugoslavia. The Vukovar water tower is a structure in Vukovar, Croatia, and one of the most recognizable symbols of the city and the entire country. Built in 1968 in the Socialist Republic of Croatia in Yugoslavia, it became a powerful symbol of resistance, sacrifice, and unity during the Croatian War of Independence. Vukovar water tower is situated 3½ km west of Vučedol Culture Museum.
