Independence Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Bakau, Gambia. It is currently used mostly for football matches, although it is also used for athletics, concerts, political events, trade fairs and national celebrations. The stadium holds 20,000 people. Independence Stadium is situated 470 metres northwest of West African International School (WAIS).

The Kachikally crocodile pool is located in the heart of Bakau, Gambia, about 10 miles from the capital Banjul. It is one of three sacred crocodile pools used as sites for fertility rituals.
