Jaffa Gate is one of the seven main open gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. The name Jaffa Gate is currently used for both the historical Ottoman gate from 1538, and for the wide gap in the city wall adjacent to it to the south. Jaffa Gate is situated 160 metres southeast of Latin Patriarchate.
New Gate

The New Gate is the newest of the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. It was built in 1889 by the Ottomans under the directorship of the French consul and Franciscan brotherhood monkship order to provide direct access between the Christian Quarter and the new neighborhoods then going up outside the walls. New Gate is situated 170 metres north of Latin Patriarchate.
