Pyramid Mountain is located high above Lake Crescent's north shore. Once known as Sugarloaf Mountain, it received its present name in 1928. It has a restored Aircraft Warning Service lookout at the summit, which was used to watch for enemy aircraft during World War Two. Pyramid Mountain is situated 1½ miles southwest of Log Cabin Resort.

The Pyramid Peak Aircraft Warning Service Lookout was built in the fall of 1942 in Olympic National Park to function as a spotter station guarding against intrusions by Japanese aircraft during World War II.
