Kathmandu Durbar Square is a historically and culturally significant site in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Basantapur Durbar Square is situated 1½ km east of Chhauni.

The Natural History Museum of Nepal is located near the World Heritage Site of Swayambhunath. The museum was established in 1975. Since then the museum has collected 50,000 specimens of Nepal’s flora, fauna, and funga. Natural History Museum is situated 800 metres northwest of Chhauni.
