Puakō is a census-designated place in Hawaiʻi County, Hawaii, United States. The population was 772 at the 2010 census, up from 429 at the 2000 census. The epicenter of the 2006 Kiholo Bay earthquake was some 6 miles offshore of the village. Puako is situated 4½ miles northeast of Lagoon Beach.
