Colón is a municipality in the La Libertad department of El Salvador, bordering Santa Tecla, Quezaltepeque, San Juan Opico, Ciudad Arce and Sacacoyo y Talnique. It was previously known as El Guarumal, made a town on 20 August 1886 and a villa on 24 July 1986.

Santa Tecla is a city and a municipality in the La Libertad department of El Salvador. It is the capital of the department of La Libertad. The city was named after Saint Thecla who was a saint of the early Christian Church, and a reported follower of Paul of Tarsus in the 1st century AD.
