Almaly is a station on Line 1 of the Almaty Metro. The station opened on December 1, 2011. On August 10, 2010, construction workers at Almaly station went on strike after the construction company had failed to pay the workers' wages for three months. The Ascension Cathedral, also known as Zenkov Cathedral, is a Russian Orthodox cathedral located in Panfilov Park in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Completed in 1907, the cathedral is made out of wood but without nails. Ascension Cathedral is situated 710 metres north of Қонаев субұрқақтары.

The 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park is an urban park near the Ascension Cathedral in east-central Almaty, Kazakhstan. The park honors the Panfilov's Twenty-Eight Guardsmen, 28 soldiers from an Alma-Ata infantry unit of the Red Army who reportedly died during World War II in the Battle of Moscow. Park of the 28 Guardsmen is situated 710 metres north of Қонаев субұрқақтары.
