The Harold Washington Library Center is the central library for the Chicago Public Library System. It is located just south of the Loop 'L', at 400 South State Street in Chicago, in the U.S. state of Illinois. Harold Washington Library is situated 440 feet north of Library Tower.

The Chicago "L" is a rapid transit system serving the city of Chicago and some of its surrounding suburbs in the U.S. state of Illinois. The system is operated by the Chicago Transit Authority, one of the three service boards of the Northern Illinois Transit Authority. Chicago "L" is situated 1,200 feet northeast of Library Tower.

LaSalle Street Station is a commuter rail terminal at 414 South LaSalle Street in downtown Chicago. First used as a rail terminal in 1852, it was a major intercity rail terminal for the New York Central Railroad until 1968, and for the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad until 1978, but now serves only Metra's Rock Island District. LaSalle Street Station is situated 1,200 feet west of Library Tower.
