At various stages of development it was also known as Dunedin Stadium or Awatea Street Stadium, or its non-commercial official name during the 2011 Rugby World Cup and 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Otago Stadium. Forsyth Barr Stadium is situated 790 metres east of Metalon.

Dunedin Hospital is the main public hospital in Dunedin, New Zealand. It serves as the major base hospital for the Otago and Southland regions with a potential catchment radius of roughly 300 kilometres, and a population catchment of around 330,000. Dunedin, called Ōtepoti in Māori, is the main city of the Otago region and the second-largest city of the South Island of New Zealand. Archaeological evidence shows Māori hunters have stayed in the area from about 1280.

The Exchange is an area of central Dunedin, in the South Island of New Zealand. The area was the original heart of Dunedin's CBD, although that has now moved north to an area around the city's central plaza and George Street, which leads north from it.
