Canal District

Rembrandt House Museum

The Rembrandt House Museum is a museum located in a former house in the Jodenbreestraat, in the center of Amsterdam. Between 1639 and 1658, the house was occupied by the Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn, who also had his studio and art dealership there. Rembrandt House Museum is situated 280 metres southwest of Uilenburg.

The Montelbaanstoren is a tower on the bank of the Oudeschans – a canal in Amsterdam. The original tower was built in 1516 as part of the Walls of Amsterdam for the purpose of defending the city and the harbour. Montelbaanstoren is situated 170 metres north of Uilenburg.
