Cherhill White Horse
Cherhill White Horse is a hill figure on Cherhill Down, just outside the village of Cherhill and 3.5 miles east of Calne in Wiltshire, England. The Lansdowne Monument, also known as the Cherhill Monument, near Cherhill in Wiltshire, England, is a 38-metre stone obelisk erected in 1845 by Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice, 3rd Marquess of Lansdowne to the designs of Sir Charles Barry to commemorate his ancestor, Sir William Petty. Lansdowne Monument is situated 1,100 feet southwest of Cherhill White Horse.
