Lose Hill lies in the Derbyshire Peak District. It is the south-east corner of the parish of Edale and the end of the Great Ridge that runs from Rushup Edge to the west.

Hope Valley College is an academy school. It is adjacent to the Peakshole Water, in the High Peak district. It provides education to pupils aged 11–16. Hope Valley College is situated 1 mile south of Losehill End.
