The remaining ramparts stand approximately 3.2 m high, with 1.5 m deep ditches, although ploughing has damaged the earthworks in some parts of the site. Grovely Castle is situated 1¼ miles southeast of Church of All Saints.

The site covers an area of 28.5 acres, and was extensively surveyed and investigated by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England in 1991, with finds of Iron Age and Romano-British pottery, Iron Age and Roman coins, and burials of human remains. Yarnbury Castle is situated 2 miles north of Church of All Saints.
